Blaine R. Salzkorn
Services for Blaine R. Salzkorn, age 75, of Sutherland, who passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee.
A come and go celebration of life will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the R.L. Johannsen Center in Sutherland.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
BLAINE R. SALZKORN
Blaine Ray Salzkorn, the son of Gaylord and Doris (Heckert) Salzkorn, was born on May 11, 1949, near Cherokee, Iowa. He graduated from Sutherland High School and after graduation furthered his education, receiving an associate degree. He was a carpenter by trade but was a skilled wood carver as a hobby. Blaine passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee reaching the age of 75 years, 11 months and 24 days.
Blaine enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, making handmade knives and carving.
Blaine is survived by his daughter, Brooke Fiddelke of Paullina and son, Heath (fiancé, Melanie Lueb) of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Mikayla (fiancé, Jett Keith), Trevor, and Aubrey Fiddelke, Jacob and Serenity Salzkorn; girlfriend, Naomi Kliegl; also, other relatives and friends.
Blaine is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Michelle Salzkorn and siblings, Joy (Ray) Lund and Dwain (Delores) Salzkorn.
