Blaine Wright Obituary

Blaine Curtis Wright, age 72, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on June 17, 2025, after having struggled with dementia for five years.
Blaine was born on October 18, 1952 to William Max Wright and Fern Folster Wright in Boise, Idaho. After also living in Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver, Colorado, the Wright Family moved to Redwood City, California in 1958 where Blaine attended John Gill Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, and graduated from Sequoia High School in 1971.
Blaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, and was called to serve a two year mission to Brazil, where he spoke Portuguese, and often times said this mission was one highlight in his life.
Blaine loved collecting hard rock record albums, musical CD's, and hundreds of DVD's. He also loved riding his bike to the California Redwood Forests, and peeling rubber in a fast car. He loved candy and sweets of any kind, pizza and mountain dew.
Blaine attended BYU in the early 1970's, both before his mission and then afterward, just before he got married. He had four children.
Blaine spent many years in Maine, and was a manager of Burger King, before starting his own business called The Planted Earth. He absolutely loved interior landscaping, and had a real talent for getting plants to thrive. He moved back to Utah in the early 1990's, and finished his career in Salt Lake City working for Paradise Palms, where he retired in 2019.
Blaine is preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Fern Wright, maternal grandparents Allen C. & Zeretta Folster, and paternal grandparents Sid and Annie Wright.
He is survived by his sister Gerry W. Young of West Jordan, Utah, and two brothers, Steven (& Elaine) Wright of Adams, Tennessee, and Paul A. Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada., and four adult children.
There will a Family Graveside Memorial on July 26, 2025 at 12:00 noon, in Vine Bluff Cemetery, located at 1200 North & 400 East in Nephi, Utah.
