In Loving Memory of Blanch Cordelia Phillips
May 4, 1942 – June 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Blanch Phillips, neé Goodrich, who left this world peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with family by her side. She was 83 years old.
Born on May 4, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Juanita Goodrich, Blanch grew up in Tonkawa, OK with sister June. Blanch lived with a strong sense of family, hard work, and kindness that defined her throughout her life. She spent the majority of her years in Cushing, Oklahoma, where she made a warm and loving home filled with the smell of fresh-baked pies and the hum of a sewing machine.
An exceptional baker and gifted seamstress, Blanch shared her talents generously - whether it was designing a wedding dress, hemming a twirling uniform, or baking a birthday cake from scratch, her love was sewn and stirred into every detail.
She was the proud mother of three children: Deborah, Mable, and Asa, and lovingly embraced three stepchildren - Steven, Michael, and James - through her 52-year marriage to James Phillips, who preceded her in death three years ago. Together, they built a life rich in family, hard work, and their love of sports.
Her legacy lives on through her 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She took great pleasure in spending summers with her grandkids, teaching them to swim, play tennis, and run 5k's.
Blanch will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her selfless heart, and the way she made everyone feel at home in her presence. She taught us the value of patience, the comfort of a homemade quilt, and the magic of a well-told story at the kitchen table.
She will be deeply missed, but forever cherished.
Blanch's family extends their heartfelt thanks for the many caretakers who surrounded her with comfort and care in her final moments.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Immediately following a Celebration of Life/Luncheon will be held at Godofredo's Pizzeria & Tap Room, 209 E. Broadway, Cushing, OK 74023.
