Hamilton, Blanche Jeanette (Reich)
Blanche Jeanette Hamilton went home to be with her Savior and Lord, April 16, 2025 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband (Glenn) Dale Hamilton, her parents (William) Victor Reich and Eleanor Gores Reich, 5 older siblings - brothers, Carl Reich, and Gene Reich; sisters, Beth Crowley, Rosemary Anderson, and Lorraine Johnson; and by her much-loved son-in-law Ron (Karen) Evenson. She is survived by her children: Sandra (Dr. Lee Allison), Janet (Kent Drewelow), Karen Evenson and Jonathan Hamilton (Kim); by her cherished grandchildren: Kara (Drewelow) Rozowski, Julie (Allison) Klueckman (Gary), Michelle (Drewelow) McNeil (Zach), Jana Allison (Arnold), Deanne Drewelow, Austin Hamilton, Alan Evenson (Alyssa), Adam Evenson (Lauren), Aaron Evenson, Selena Hamilton; and by her 23 great-grandchildren.
Blanche was born August 18, 1930 in Cavalier, North Dakota. She graduated from Superior, Wisconsin East High School, class of 1948 and completed secretarial training in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was employed. She met and married the love of her life, Dale Hamilton, at Souls Harbor Calvary Temple, January 2, 1951. Blanche and Dale resided in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they were actively involved in their church in many capacities such as singing in the Soul's Harbor Television Choir and working with their much loved "Young Marrieds." Following retirement, they became actively involved in Gideons International. She loved her Gideons Auxiliary and often gave Gideons New Testaments to those she met. First and foremost, Blanche loved her Heavenly Father and her Lord Jesus, followed by her family - especially each of her 10 grandchildren. She loved long phone conversations with friends and family. Among other favorites were nature - camping, canoeing, summer camp 'Nature Lady', and the birds she tracked outside her kitchen window. She enjoyed working at The Twin Cities Christian Chronicle Newspaper where she made lifelong friendships, and in the Pillsbury test kitchens. She loved home grown tomatoes, pecan pie, birthday carrot cake, Nut Goodies, Turtles, and every shade of the color, pink. No one ever heard an angry, a critical or an unkind word from her. Her sweet and loving nature will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. You finished your race well Mom!
A celebration of her life will be held for family and close friends at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Washburn-McReavy Shoreview Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment Tuesday, May 13th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials will be gifted to The Gideons International for purchase of Bibles.
