Bobby was born on November 9, 1933 in Electra, Texas to Anna Laura and Willis Clay Reid of Electra, Texas. She graduated from Megargel High School in 1951.
Bobby was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone after graduating high school.
She soon met and married Harrell "Bud" Lowhorn January 10, 1953. They were married for 48 years, and she devoutly cared for him before Bud preceded her in death in 2000.
They settled down in
Olney, Texas, the town they both loved, while Bud worked in the oil field. They started a family in 1954 with the birth of their son, Bill and their daughter Belinda in 1962. Bobby and Bud moved around several times during their marriage as Bud's new job with Community Public Service required.
In 1973, Bobby moved back to Olney with her family, where she spent the remainder of her life.
She became active in many church programs, such as the GA's and The Amity Club. Her lifelong love of playing the piano, led her to playing the piano every Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Olney and The Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Olney.
Bobby was remarried on June 28, 2015 to Lowell Wright, after Bud's passing in 2000, and they lived in Olney until his passing in 2019.
She loved gardening, shopping [especially clothes and jewelry], with her two closest friends and co-shoppers, her sisters Betty and Leen. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a laugh that was infectious. And sometimes a fiery, stubborn nature that she would have to say with chuckle, "I'm gonna need God to help me work on that" She was a unique, humble, honest and colorful soul.
Bobby was devoted to her faith and would never miss a day to rise early, say her prayers and read scripture quietly. She was always the first to offer her comfort through prayer, starting a prayer chain and offering her generosity of spirit. When prayers were answered, or something surprisingly wonderful would occur, she would say, "It's a God thing"
Her great love of sports, especially her beloved Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks will always be remembered as one of her greatest life pleasures, even when they lost, she remained loyal.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother to Kash and Brendan and a good friend to so many. Known for her warmth, kindness and generosity. She will be remembered for her strength, devotion to her faith and the joy she brought to others.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Bud and Lowell, her parents, and her two older sisters, Betty Livingston and Eileen Hilton.
She is survived by her children Bill Lowhorn and her daughter in law, Nancy of Long Island, NY and her daughter Belinda Brannigan of Petrolia Texas.
She also leaves behind her grandson Vincent Hinson and her two beloved great grandchildren, Brendan and Kash of Fort Worth, Texas.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including very special niece, Laurie Tinney and grandniece, Katie of Megargel, Texas.
Mom, thank you for everything. Your love and kindness will be deeply missed, but your memory will live in our hearts forever.
