Breanna Marguerite Sprenger, a bright light and fierce advocate, passed away at age 23 on Thursday, May 1, 2025. She was born July 6, 2001 in Fairview Park, Ohio to parents Carrie Ross and John Sprenger, proving herself a fighter from the first moment she appeared and never stopping for her too brief time here.
Bre grew up in Avon and was a 2019 graduate of Avon High School. She attended Cleveland State University, majoring in Social Work. Bre was an accomplished swimmer, and in her teens qualified for and competed with the US Paralympic team, setting several World Records in her events. Bre became involved with Youth Challenge in Westlake at age 9, and remained active, both as a participant and an advocate for the rest of her life. Most recently Bre worked as a Good Life Ambassador for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Her ability to connect with people and immediately make them her friend made her the perfect fit as an ambassador. Bre was comfortable speaking to groups, large or small, or one on one with elected officials; Bre knew what was needed for inclusion and she wasn't going to stop advocating for it. Bre engaged her community through social media and especially enjoyed Tik Tok, and she could also be found unwinding with some Starbucks while watching Grey's Anatomy.
Bre is survived by her loving parents Carrie Ross and John Sprenger; beloved siblings Paighten and Chase Sprenger; grandma Kathleen Sprenger; aunts and uncles Lisa Bender (Jay), Marnie LaRosa, DeeDee Thomas (Patrick), Dana Sprenger (Wendy), Jennifer Liptak (Shawn Sprouse), Mark Sprenger (Ella), Todd Sprenger (Tamara), Lori Sandall (Stan), Sandi Sprenger (Allie), Anne Ernest (John}, Jill Chittenden (Bill), Lillian Williams (Tyler); and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rosemary Ogden, Leonard Ross, and Jack Sprenger.
Please forward memorial contributions in Bre's honor to her beloved Youth Challenge, 800 Sharon Dr, Westlake, OH 44145 https://www.youthchallengesports.com/.
