Brenda Sue Owens, born on July 6, 1965, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the union of the late Charles & Francis Stapleton Farthing. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Hyden, Kentucky, on July 14, 2025 at the age of 60. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
Brenda dedicated herself to her career as a long-time cook for Hyden Health & Rehab with heartfelt service. Her selflessness and willingness to help others in need were great traits of her personality that was obvious to everyone she met.
A graduate of Miami High School, Brenda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to visit family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Survivors include her cherished sons: Scott Owens of Hamilton, OH, Daniel Conrad of Hyden, KY, and Dylan Conrad & his wife Francesca of Hyden, KY. Brenda took great pride in her role as a grandmother to ten treasured grandchildren: Sean Conrad, Bailey Conrad, Marissa Owens, Eli Owens, Michael Pierman, David Conrad, Nevaeh Conrad, Samara Conrad, Nadia Conrad, and Logan Conrad, as well as three great-grandchildren: Mazlee Rose Mayer, Reba Maylene Denise Conrad, and Hunter Mikal Conrad. Other survivors include her four brothers, Charles Farthing, Jr. and his wife Mary, Mike Farthing, Joe Farthing, and Charles Matthew Farthing, all of Hamilton, OH; her sister Sandy Farthing of Hamilton, OH; her special niece Melissa Conrad Burton; special sisters Edna Conrad and Loretta Perry; special friend Melissa Slusher Bosley and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
In her free time, Brenda enjoyed porch sitting and visiting with her dear friends Edna Conrad and Loretta Perry. She had a passion for classic rock music, riding motorcycles, and spending time on the lake. This was her favorite place to be.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Francis Stapleton Farthing, Brenda is preceded in death by her significant other and father of her children, Samuel Conrad, her son Sammy Conrad, two brothers, Tommy and Donnie Farthing, and her granddaughter Kaliana Jaden Lynn Conrad.
The funeral service for Brenda Sue Owens will be held at 2p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Couch officiating.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4p.m. - 8p.m., Thursday evening, July 17, 2025 at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
