Full Obituary
Brian A. Dieckmann, age 60, of Carlyle, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon. He was born on March 30, 1965, in Breese. Brian lived a life marked by dedication to family, hard work, and a love of the outdoors.
Brian married Karen Dieckmann (nee Wessel) on June 24, 1988, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and she survives in Carlyle. In addition to his loving wife, Brian is survived by his children, Ashley (Chris) Butler of Troy and Travis (Caitlin Mill) Dieckmann of Carlyle; granddaughter, Gracie Dieckmann; step-grandchildren, Aiden and Blaz Butler; siblings, Missy Dieckmann of Carlyle and Donald "Jr." Dieckmann of Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth Wilbur of Texas, Janet (Michael) Kumm of Iowa, and Ron Wessel of Centralia; and nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dieckmann; brother, Bob Dieckmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Bernice (nee Reitemeier) Wessel; brother-in-law, David Wilbur; and sister-in-law, Donna Wessel.
A graduate of Southwestern Illinois College, Brian was the proud owner and operator of Echo Plumbing in Carlyle. Beyond his work, he found great joy in fishing, shooting, and spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Gracie, who brought immense happiness to his life.
In keeping with Brian's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
Memorials in honor of Brian may be made to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society and will be received by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
