Brian Koontz Obituary

Brian E. Koontz, of Media PA., passed away on February 3, 2025. He was proceeded in death by his parents John Koontz and Nancy Koontz and is survived by his wife and partner of 35 years Cheryl Lynn Peters Koontz, his sisters, Pam Hudson of Elizabethtown and Sue Harris of Palmyra, and their families. A graduate of Lycoming college with a degree in Astronomy and Physics, Brian was fascinated with planetary science and was a mega Star Wars fan. He was a long-time patron of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, and he enjoyed gaming with friends and attending theater and orchestra performances. He loved woodworking and enjoyed making gifts for family and friends. He loved over-the-top decorating for Christmas, and nothing gave him more joy than cooking or baking for a house full of people. Known for his humor, his kind soul, and his steel-trap memory, he had a wide circle of friends and was a proud uncle to Nicholas and godfather to Josh, Katie, Connor, Allie, Michael, and Zach. Brian was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Elizabethtown and in more recent years was a frequent visitor of the first United Methodist Church of Media. A celebration of life will be held April 26, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Brethren in Elizabethtown, PA.
