Brian Lee Pendleton passed away at his home in Provo on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Brian was born on November 14, 1960 in Pomona, California.
Brian was the fourth of five children born to Lynn Pendleton and Mary Rae Hutchings Pendleton. He had a vibrant childhood in Montclair, Claremont, and Upland, California where his days were spent playing Little League Baseball, going on family outings, playing at the beach, playing church sports, participating in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America programs, and getting into mischief. He was an energetic child with an independent spirit. At school he was known as "The Candy Man" because he always had some type of candy stashed away in his desk, something that didn't change much as he grew older. As an adult he developed a love of fishing, hiking, skiing, gardening, and woodworking. He married Darla Christine Adams on September 10, 1982 in Provo, Utah and together they have 4 children. Those who knew Brian appreciated his practical sense of humor, down-to earth sensibility, and problem-solving capabilities. His love of gardening has always been displayed proudly in his yard. Brian worked delivering newspapers as a child, graduated from Upland High School and, after studying cabinetry and millwork at Utah Technical School, continued on to work a variety of different jobs including Barlow's Cabinetry and Millwork, driving a cement mixer for Geneva Rock, building custom wood fences (Pendleton Fence Co.), district manager at Newspaper Agency Corporation, and Smith's Food and Drug.
Brian is survived by his mother, Mary Pendleton, his four siblings, Mary Lynn Williams-Foschetti (Nick), Larry Wayne Pendleton (Cherise), Micheal Dean Pendleton, and Sharon Rae Beeman (Todd), his wife Darla Pendleton, his four children: Sarah Janae Minor (Dayton), Janessa Rae Rivera (Gonzalo), Clint James Pendleton, and Crystal Lee Pendleton, and his 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Lynn Pendleton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 11th at 11:00 AM at the Latter-day Saint church building located at 1456 East 300 North, Provo, UT. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.

Brian and I were friends. I recall church outings, pony league baseball, he was our pitcher, and I the catcher. Then we would roll on down to play some church softball, usually after a baseball game. Many times folding newspapers in the foyer of his home while his very talented sister Marylynn practiced both piano and organ in the adjacent room. Then off to deliver his papers. Then ride our bikes up the 2 miles to my House to fold and deliver my route. Then swim until we couldn't!
We both met up at Alta for a skiing weekend after he had moved to Utah. I believe I've never had a better ski trip before or since!
Yes there was plenty of mischief and I was right in the middle of most of it! Good memories, I wouldn't trade not one minute!
You will be missed my friend!
R. I . P. Brian!
