Helen (Altomare) Lazzaro, 99, of Worcester, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 77 years, Armando Lazzaro of Worcester; her loving son, John Lazzaro and his long-time partner Mary Borey of Boylston; her adored granddaughter, Elayna Hebert and her husband Kristopher of North Andover; her dear great grandchildren, Benjamin, Lukas and Camden; and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, in addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her six cherished siblings.
Born December 14, 1925, in Worcester to the late Salvatore and Mary (Capalbo) Altomare.
Helen loved dancing and enjoyed going out with friends to dance events every Friday night for many years. She was also a great cook and loved hosting friends and family for conversation and a delicious Italian meal.
Calling hours will be held for Helen on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 9:30a.m. until her Funeral Service starting at 11:00a.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Entombment will immediately follow services in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the Jimmy Fund and Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
