Bridgette Claudine McMillian (Moore), age 73, of Salisbury, NC, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1951, in Repton, Alabama, to the late Walter Green McMillian Sr. and Fannie Bell Lambert McMillian. Bridgette was the beloved youngest daughter of nine children. A trailblazer from a young age, Bridgette was one of the first minority females to integrate Excel High School in Excel, Alabama. She embraced life with energy and grace, serving as a majorette in the school band and being crowned debutante queen. Her passion for music shone early as a member of the Union High School Choir, eventually becoming part of a singing group known as The Featurettes.
After graduating, Bridgette married Curtis Ozzie Moore Sr., and together they were blessed with a loving and vibrant family. Her legacy continues through her children: Erica (Jeffrey) Carter, Dasia, and (Carter) McGill of Salisbury, NC; Curtis (Shannon) Ozzie Moore Jr. of Concord, NC; Nigel (Jennifer) Moore, Daijon Moore, and Brionna of Moore, CA; Natasha (John) Cottrell, and their children: Devonte Cottrell, Arizbeth, Mylo, Jamarie, Jamarcus (Leilani), and Rayvon Cottrell of Salisbury, NC; and Akina (Jay) Alcime, and their children: Jay Alcime Jr., Stelanna, and Skylar of Charlotte, NC.
Bridgette will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her presence was a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
