Bruce Gordon Robinson
July 31, 1950 – July 2, 2025
Bruce Gordon Robinson, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Harrogate,Tennessee, on July 2, 2025. A lifelong member of Shawanee Baptist Church, Bruce was known for his quick wit, easy laugh, and deep love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Sue Robinson, and his brother, Steve Robinson.
He is survived by his three daughters-Elizabeth Robinson, Emily Robinson, and Ellen Slane (Clayton)-and by his grandson, Logan Thomas Slane, all of whom were a constant source of pride, joy, and gentle teasing. Bruce also leaves behind a host of loyal friends who will miss his humor, kindness, and unwavering loyalty.
A lifelong lover of stories, Bruce could be found with a good book in hand, lining up a putt on the golf course, or swapping tales (and the occasional tall one) over a drink with friends. He had an uncanny knack for lightening up any room with a perfectly timed joke, clever quip, or knowing smile-and he rarely passed up the chance to prove it.
Bruce was a passionate reader and a die-hard Tennessee Volunteers fan, through winning seasons and the "character-building" ones alike. He believed laughter was a superpower and a well-aimed punchline could solve almost anything.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Donnie Fox officiating. A private burial will be at Scott Cemetery in Harrogate.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to raise a glass, tell a joke, and cheer on the Vols in his honor.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Arnett & Steele Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during this time, and for all they've done to honor our Dad.
Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate is honored to be serving the Robinson family.

Bruce was a fun, faithful and compassionate individual. First photo is probably from 1967 or 1968. Second photo from May, 2025.

Here´s a quick photo of a photo my father took in 1955 of Bruce and Steve with their bicycles in the yard of the house built by Jim Robinson sometime in the early 1920s (I´m guessing). The second is a quick photo of a photo of Bruce from about 1953. Behind Bruce: his grandmother Thenia Soard Robinson, his father Ralph Robinson, his aunt Betty Smith Rice, and uncle Gene Rice. The original photo is much less blurry.

Bruce was my cousin on my mother´s side. My mother used to babysit him when he was very young and she always said he was an adorable kid. My earliest clear memory of him is from when I was 4 and he was about 16 and we cut through a field to walk from Bruce´s family´s home to our great aunt Lucy´s house and he lifted me up over a barbed wire fence but cut himself slightly in the process. I thought he was very brave to not cry and not even complain. He was already a steady guy and I was impressed over the years by his love and devotion to his mother and father and his brother, Steve.
Anyway, I just got the sad news of Bruce´s passing. I will make every effort to get to the service this Saturday at 4pm.
