Bryce Gene Steele
Services for Bryce (Gene) Steele, Age 92, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Phillip Mullins will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Bryce (Gene) Steele went peacefully home to be with Lord on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Gene was born on May 28, 1933 to Bryce Leo Steele and Minnie Viola (Raymer) Steele in Griggs, OK. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, JB "Son" and Emma Jones in Ada, OK. He married Loretta Monnette Butler on July 8, 1957.
Gene was a veteran of the Korean War and spent his life working for the oil industry across Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Gene was a quiet, hard-working man who loved his family and spent his life dedicated to providing for them. He also was a skilled chess player and enjoyed maneuvering his pieces against any challenger.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and aunt and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Lorretta; two daughters: Beverly and husband, Steven Garner of Columbus, MS and Barbara and husband, Mark Riddle of Brazoria, TX. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Cole Harwood, Chase Lawrence, Camren Christian, Ryder Perry, Jason Christian and Tyler Pogue.
