It is with deep love and respect that we announce the passing of Buster Nelson Reid, who departed this life on July 23, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101.

Born on January 29, 1924, Buster lived through a century of change with strength, grace, and an unshakable sense of purpose. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life he spoke of with quiet pride and humility.
Following his military service, he built a long and successful career at Phillips 66, where he worked until his retirement. A dedicated and hard-working man, Buster was respected by colleagues and friends alike for his integrity and determination.
A proud Freemason, Buster embodied the values of brotherhood, charity, and service throughout his life. He was also an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest peace in the woods and on the water. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies, but lifelong passions. He passed on his love for the outdoors to family and friends with stories, wisdom, and handcrafted fishing lures.
In retirement, Buster continued to pursue his love of fishing by designing and making custom fishing lures, many of which were sold through Bass Pro Shops in Dallas. His creations were as skilled and thoughtful as the man himself-tested through years of experience and deeply appreciated by anglers across Texas and beyond.
Buster leaves behind a legacy of strength, humility, and enduring kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Buster is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, and parents John and Myrtle Reid.
Buster is survived by his daughter Barbara Reid, son Claude Nelson Reid, nieces Linda Miracle, Fran and Lisa Gail; nephews Bruce and Tom Emerson, David and wife Elaine; grandchildren Mikki, John, Jarred, James; great grandchildren Kevin and Cherilyn
