NAMPA - Cameron Anthony Copeland May 13, 1995 – July 9, 2025
Cameron Anthony Copeland passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2025, at the age of 30, in Nampa, Idaho.
Born on May 13, 1995, Cameron brought laughter, stubborn determination, and a fierce love for his family into the world from day one.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and MerriDee Copeland, and Angel Birchfield; his siblings Jamie (Tom), Reid, Bryanna (Anurag), Meagan (Taylor), Taylor, Austin, and Sammy; his grandparents Debbie (Bruce), John, Billie, and Shannon. He was deeply loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cameron was wickedly funny, incredibly loyal, and lived life his own way-often reminding everyone, "I know. Yeah, I know." He was the kind of person who did things on his own terms. Whether he was cooking up spaghetti and chili with a cold Mountain Dew in hand, blasting music on a drive, or playing on his Xbox, Cameron brought heart and gentleness to everything he did.
He was a gifted chess player, taught by his dad and eventually so skilled that Bob (dad) had to buy a book of new opening moves just to try and keep up. Fittingly, their last game together-played in the hospital- ended with Cameron winning using a single pawn.
From a young age, Cameron was drawn to games, adventure, and speed. He loved snowboarding, karate, video games, and later, the social world of online gaming. He loved to go fast and go shooting. Cameron spent time working in drywall-hard work he showed up for. Later, he worked as a line cook, where he was precise, quick, and took pride in serving a good plate. He was a picky eater, but he always had room for a French dip, salmon, or steak.
His favorite phrase in his adult life was "Goonies never say die," which reminds us of his brave, relentless spirit. He had a soft spot for kids and was always their favorite when he was around-playing video games, teaching them chess, or just making them laugh. He loved his dog, Remi, and his cat, Puma. He was gentle, quick-witted, and deeply loved.
The family would like to thank the incredible teams responsible for Cameron's care in his final days: the ICU team at St. Alphonsus in Boise and the sixth floor team at the University of Utah Hospital. Their kindness and expertise will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 am–2 pm at 297 Davis Ave, Nampa, Idaho. All are welcome. Please dress casually and for outdoor weather. There will be open sharing, so if you knew Cameron, we'd love for you to come and bring your stories To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Cameron, please visit our floral store.
