MUNCIE - Candace S. "Candy" Kennedy, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at her home.
She was born on September 28, 1955 in Muncie, the daughter of Harry C. and Shirley M. (Sewell) McQueen and graduated from Monroe Central High School in 1974. She married David A. Kennedy in July, 1978.
Candy worked for General Motors for 27 years and worked at Country Charm as a sales associate in the Muncie Mall for many years.
She loved to baby-sit her grandchildren and enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, Tonne Winery and vacationing in Florida.
Surviving are one daughter, Robin Kennedy of Muncie; one son, Justin Kennedy (Jennifer) of Muncie; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Austin, Michelle, Quintin, Phoebe, Juniper, Bentley and Maddox; six great-grandchildren, Audrey, Aiden, Karson, Arayah, Kamden and Jaxon; one brother, David McQueen (wife, Valerie) of Sebring, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, David A. Kennedy on February 20, 2022; two children, Lorraine Lamb and Michael D. Kennedy; and one sister, Kathy Butler.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
