Carl Eugene McKillip, 60-year-old Vinita resident, passed away early Monday, July 7, 2025, at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after an extended illness. He was born on October 12, 1964, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Clarence Eugene McKillip and Pauline Jane (Cook) McKillip King. Carl grew up in Vinita and graduated from Vinita High School. He last worked at J&M Mushroom Plant in Miami before his health forced him to retire. Carl loved to watch Oklahoma Sooner Football and go fishing when he was able.
The family includes his children, John, C. J., Josh and Kali McKillip all of Miami, step-father, Charles King of Vinita, brothers, Jim Cook and John McKillip both of Vinita, sisters, Misty Sidel and husband Travis of Nebraska, Renee Todd and husband Richard of Vinita; grandchildren, Vanessa, Kevin, Makenzie, Gracen, Brylee and Kaizley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline King, brother, Michael "Fish" Baker, and two sisters in law.
Services are pending and will be announced later. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."

You will be greatly missed Carl. You are a good person and a great father. I only wish I had not lost touch with you when I moved out of town. I had no idea you were so sick. I would have done whatever I could have to help you. I am so sorry for mine and the world´s loss.
