Carlene Gaiser Obituary

Carlene E. Gaiser, age 92 of Roseville, Michigan, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 14, 2025. She was born in Detroit, MI on March 7, 1933 to the late Carl and Irene (Dueball) Munzel. For nearly 65 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence O. Gaiser, marrying on November 6, 1954 until his passing on October 24, 2019.
Carlene was a lifelong Lutheran, dedicating many decades of her life to her church community. She was a devoted member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Clinton Twp for over 60 years. Throughout this time, she often participated in many groups, including the church choir, Young at Heart Circle, and the Women's Guild. In her later years and up to the present, she attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville, and even at 92, she enjoyed making new friends at Cranberry Park Assisted Living Center. She was a gifted cake decorator, sharing her talents by creating cakes for weddings and special occasions. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time at Higgins Lake with her extended family. She was a lifelong dog lover, owning six dogs over her lifetime, and she loved to acknowledge birthdays and special occasions with a celebratory card.
She is survived by her loving family, including her children Sharyl (Roger) VanVechten and Steven Gaiser, grandchildren Katherine (David) Prince, Roger Carl, Timothy, Sarah, and Benjamin VanVechten, great-granddaughter Eleanor, sister Janice Lang, several sisters-in-law, a host of loving nieces and nephews, and close friends Mary Ellen Havrilla, Mary Krause, and Trena Dernay. Carlene is preceded in death by her beloved Lawrence, her parents, and her siblings Herbert and Roy Munzel.
Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 until 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 29675 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are welcomed at 10:00.
