Carmine A. Magnotta ObituaryCarmine Magnotta
June 26, 1942 – July 14, 2025
Carmine peacefully passed away in his sleep during the early morning hours of Monday, July 14, 2025. Son to John and Vincenza Magnotta, and beloved brother to Mickey and Frances. Carm's legacy of love, dedication, and service to others will endure forever. He was 83 years old.
Born on June 26 1942, Carm grew up in White Plains, New York, and graduated from White Plains High School. He went on to earn a degree in Health and Physical Education from Brockport University, while attending Brockport University he would meet and marry Lynda, his wife of 57 years. Continuing his academic journey Carmine would earn a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
For 37 years, Carmine made an indelible mark at Ocean Township High School, where he was both a respected educator and an enthusiastic coach. Whether teaching in the classroom or on the field, Coach Mags was a steady presence who instilled a love of learning, discipline, and sportsmanship in the countless students whose lives he touched. He coached several sports throughout his career, including football, softball, and wrestling, always with a focus on developing character as much as athletic skill.
Carmine is survived and loved by his wife, Lynda; his children, Melissa, Tricia, and John; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicolle, James, Gianna, Caralyn, and Valerie. Adored by his dog, Cooper.
Though he was a teacher, a coach, a mentor, and a friend to many, it is his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family that will be remembered most. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Carmine will be deeply missed but not forgotten.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday, July 21, 2025 at the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church on the Hill, 10 Cold Indian Springs Road, Ocean Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
