Carnene Michelle Gay, aged 61 of Salt Lake City, Utah was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 6th, 2025, after a brief illness. Michelle was born April 24, 1964, in Provo, Utah to Sara Carolyn Prince and Richard Mumford.
Michelle, as she was so affectionately known, was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by her fierce love for her family, her compassion and kindness to all those who crossed her path, and her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The greatest love of her life was her children, and her grandchildren. Although she went through some challenging times, she always found a way to provide for them. Her work years gave her fulfillment in service to others. Michelle reveled in building relationships, fostering friendships, sharing kind words, empathy, and never letting those she loved doubt her love for them. In her last days, she knew her time was coming. She spoke with several family members about this. Her faith gave her hope, and she knew what awaited her on the other side. I told her not to be scared, to know that Mom is waiting for her on the other side of the veil. She responded, “I’m ready, I’m ready to go see Mom”. We as a family, take great comfort in knowing that she was not fearful of her passing, that she was ready. No more sorrow, no more pain, only walking the streets of gold and basking in the glory of God and singing, once again, with the angels.
Michelle will be remembered for infectious laugh and smile, her kindness, her love of her family, and always putting others first, asking for nothing in return. We never know the impact we have on others, so be kind, tell people you love them, love with abandon, and above all else, have compassion, forgive, and love one another as He has loved us. That is the example Michelle left for us.
Michelle is survived by her children Tiha LeFevre and Justin Chorniak, David Behunin, Sara LeFevre and Chris Fausett, Debrah Losee and Jared Erickson, Kellie LeFevre, Richard and Becki LeFevre, and Martina Losee.
