Carol Lee (Kennedy) Dawkins, a cherished soul known fondly as Carol to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on February 15, 1938, in Highland Park, Michigan, Carol's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and adventure that spanned 87 years.

Carol's journey began as the beloved daughter of Ed and Edith (Cramer) Kennedy. She grew up surrounded by the affection of her siblings Dick (Pat) Falconer, Frank (Barbara) Falconer, Maxine Goulet, and was preceded in death by her brother John Kennedy and brother-in-law Mark Goulet. The bonds of family were further strengthened when she met and married the love of her life, Robert Dawkins. Together, they built a family that would be her pride and joy: children Michael Dawkins, Kellie (Dan) LaValley, Carrie (Ed) Strzelecki, and Rob (Michele) Dawkins. Though her heart was heavy with the loss of her infant daughter Christy Lee and later her husband Robert, Carol's spirit remained resilient, a beacon of love for all who knew her.

Carol's legacy is celebrated by her adoring grandchildren Andrea (Matt), Adam (Nikki), Alex (Andrew), Daniel, Joey, Jacquelyn, Ryan, and Will, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, who were the recipients of her boundless love and the handmade cards she crafted with such care. Each holiday was made special by her personal touch, a tradition that will be deeply missed.

A woman of many passions, Carol's love for the silver screen was evident in her status as an avid moviegoer. Her creative spirit found joy in crafting, drawing, scrapbooking, and sewing. These hobbies were not only a testament to her artistic talent but also a source of countless cherished memories for her family. Carol's adventurous spirit took her across the United States and beyond, exploring the world's wonders with the same enthusiasm she brought to her daily life.

An avid reader, Carol found solace and excitement in the pages of books, which were her constant companions. Whether strolling alone or with friends, she embraced the simple pleasure of walking, finding beauty and tranquility in nature's embrace. Above all, Carol's greatest joy was the time spent with her family and friends.

Carol will be remembered as a loving, spirited, and funny person. Her spirit indomitable, and her love for life an inspiration to all. As we bid farewell to Carol Lee Dawkins, we celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those she touched.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to honor Carol will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025, at a family members' home 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions in honor of Carol can be made to McLaren Hospice and Lapeer District Library. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
