Carol Dunlap Obituary

Carol Jean Dunlap, age 81, of Leesburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by love at the home of her daughter, Cherie McCarthy, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Carol was born on November 24, 1943, in Fairborn, Ohio, the beloved daughter of the late Clarence Gilbert and Myrtle Eloise Townsend Patton. She retired in January 2001 as the Director of the ASCS Office in Ross County. Above all, Carol treasured time spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Cherie McCarthy of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Michelle Brinkman of Sebastian, Florida; four grandchildren, Ariana McCarthy, Natasha (Tim) Martin, Dustin Brinkman, Jordan (Jessica) Brinkman; four great grandchildren, Camden Martin, Savannah Martin, Henry Brinkman, and Wesley Brinkman; one sister, Judith Wilkin of Dayton; one brother, Jeff Patton of Leesburg and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. "Bob" Dunlap on November 4, 2023. They were married on December 16, 1961. She was also preceded in death by one brother, David Gilbert Patton and one sister, Geraldine Dean Patton. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th at the funeral home.
