Carol J. Stombaugh, 66, of Byesville, passed away Friday (July 25, 2025) at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.

She was born December 24, 1958 in Watseka IL, daughter of the late Robert Stombaugh and Irene (Eason) Addis. She was a 1978 graduate of Caldwell High School.

Carol had worked in the housekeeping department at Southeastern Med for several years. She had also worked at Mr. Lee's Restaurant of Cambridge.

She enjoyed watching her birds and YouTube videos, as well as coloring.

Carol loved her grandchildren dearly and she loved the family's dogs, especially the pugs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Mark Addis; her sister, Cindy Stombaugh; and her niece, Sarah Bozarth.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Josh) Blackledge and Kristy (Tim) Harding; a sister, Cheryl (Chuck) Cain; six grandchildren, Gabe, Caleb, Gracie, Emma, Daisy, and Claire; a nephew, Ben (Amanda) Cain; and her companion, Kenny Holmes.

Graveside services and burial will be held at Center Cemetery on Friday (August 1, 2025) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Bergeson officiating.
