Born January 6, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey. Residing in Hayes, Virginia with spouse James Lewis. Carole passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025 with her family by her side.

She is survived by twin sister Joanne Blake of West Hurley New York, husband James Lewis, daughters Joanna Ames, Stacey Westfall and Rebecca Rarey. Grandchildren John Hines, Megan Hines, Taylor Hines, James Westfall and Jessie Westfall. Carole had five great grandchildren Hudson Devin, Harper Hines, Travis Chan, Conner and Cooper Hines. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Jordan Benton and Josephine Thysens.

Carole was a regular on the TV show American Bandstand in the early 60's, also a regular volunteer with USO. She was a beloved Philadelphia Eagles fan, retired from Abingdon Elementary School cafeteria then she continued to work at various 7-11 stores between Gloucester Point and Ordinary. She loved the outdoors, the beach, her trips to Tennessee with her husband James, and her fur babies. She loved her family with all her heart and always stressed the importance of family and staying together.

There will be a private Celebration of Life for family and close friends on September 20, 2025 at Nick's Spaghetti House in Gloucester Point, no time assigned yet.
