Our Mother, Ina Carole Hines Pacheco, escaped the bonds of Earth on August 12, 2025, after a short illness. She was 90 years old. She was born on March 9, 1935 to Irene Alva Gulley and Horace Grady Hines. She was the middle child of five siblings: Shirley, Elsie, Carole, H. Grady, and Joan. She was baptized as a young child. She was a proud graduate of Greenwood High School. She attended Northwestern State College where she married 2nd Lieutenant Miguel Pacheco. The couple had four sons: Miguel "Mike" Pacheco, Luis "Tony" Pacheco, Juan "Rich" Pacheco, and Carlos A. Pacheco. She is pre-deceased by her parents, husband, three siblings, one son, Juan "Rich" Pacheco; and one grandson, Joseph "Joey" Pacheco.

Our Mother was a committed Army wife who endured multiple changes in station in the South, Europe, and the Caribbean, as well as single parenting for almost two years during the Vietnam Conflict. She was an artist/artisan with diverse interests varying from charcoal drawing to wood carving. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Georgia State University and her Masters in English from Centenary College. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 40 years and worked in the nursery for 35 years. She was the first person her sons learned to love and amazed her family with an unconditional love bettered only by God's. She was the proof that there is a Loving God.

Here are some of the memories which Carole made during her lifetime: There were the times when granddaughters Adrian and Kylie regularly "split the blankets" with Grandma in her king-size bed on nights over. There were the times when Mother would read from the Holy Bible and Smokey the Cowhorse to her sons before seeing them off to bed. There was the time when she carved the names of her children and grandchildren into a wooden high-chair. There were the times she encouraged her sister Joan when Joan's husband was contending with multiple sclerosis. There were the times when…

Ina Carole Hines Pacheco leaves behind 3 children, Miguel "Mike" Pacheco, Luis "Tony" Pacheco and wife Nelda, and Carlos A. Pacheco and wife Beth; 7 grandchildren, Tony Pacheco, Amanda Myers (Tim), Katie Wooley (Ryan), Kylie Pacheco, Adrian Pacheco, Juan Pacheco (Valerie), and Jimmy Pacheco; 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Luis Pacheco II, Braden Pacheco, Christopher Pacheco, Tim Myers, Asa Gates, and Collin Smith.
