Carole Lee Schneider, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on January 21, 2025. Carole was born on January 30, 1943, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Ruth Marie (Reynolds) Yellowhorse and Henry Kennth Sappington. The family moved to Texas around 1955. In Carole's teenage years, she met and married Orlando A Schneider. They had three children: Susan, Kenneth, and David. Carole joined the family on camping and fishing trips, where we enjoyed fresh fried catfish accompanied by French fries. Mom was a great cook and had all the grandparents over for the holidays so that we could all be together. She worked with family and friends at "Mission Valley Mills" in New Braunfels.
We moved to San Antonio in the 70's, Carole and her sister, Janice, were part of a neighborhood patrol, keeping watch over everything. After we grew older, Mom took up waitressing, then worked at the old NBC Bank downtown in San Antonio for a while. She loved watching her grandkids when she was younger, but also enjoyed going to garage sales, and reading books was a hobby of hers. She lived with her youngest son, David, who helped support each other along with her last two dog companions, Peewee and Honey. As her time drew near, she wanted everyone to gather for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which always brightened her day.
I want to give special thanks to Freedom Hospice for making her last days comfortable and ensuring that she was well taken care of before the day of the snow, which is the day she went home to be with her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Orlando A. Schneider; her parents; her brothers, Dale Fox and Frank Fox; her brother-in-law, Glenn R. Schneider; his wife, Jeanine; her nephew, Richard Stephens; her niece, Jessica Fox; and numerous cousins.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Skrzycki, and her husband, Stanley; her son, Kenneth Schneider, and his wife, Leah; her son, David Schneider; her sister, Janice Bonner; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Fox.
Grandchildren: Amber Schneider, Amanda Critchfield and husband, Jeff; Charlene Evans and husband, Clint; Lauren Schneider; Jacob Schneider; along with eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Interment at Dugger Cemetery on July 26, 2025 @ 10:00 (visitation starting at 9:30)
