Carolyn Jane Carlson, age 86 of Antrim, passed away Wednesday July 16, 2025 at Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown, OH.
She was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on November 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Marion Lawrence "Bud" Strayer and Virginia Ruth (Adams) Strayer.
Carolyn was a 1956 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, after high school she worked as a law office secretary and became an LPN working in Denver, Colorado. On March 11, 1961 Carolyn married Cecil Roy Carlson. Following their marriage in 1961, Carolyn and Cecil moved around the world with the help of the US Department of Army, living in various places, including Michigan, Florida, Japan, and Northern Virginia. While living in Northern Virginia, Carolyn was a school bus (Fairfax Christian School Bus Number 44) driver for around 10 years and a Mary Kay consultant for over 40 years. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of American Revolution and was a foster mom.
Carolyn and Cecil loved to travel around the country together with their Airstream, with the Wally Byam Club and attended the many sporting events of her children. Following retirement Carolyn and Cecil returned to their roots in Ohio and operated a beef cattle farm.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cecil Roy Carlson, three children, John Carlson, Jennifer Lewis and James (& Gina) Carlson; grandchildren, Zach (& Krystal), Hannah, Sully (& Jenna), Cody (& Madie), Griffin, Dakota; great grandchildren, Audrey, Ben, Claire, Oliver, Jenna, Dexter, Sabrina; sister-in-laws Martha Strayer and Norma Strayer; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister Marilyn, two brothers, William A. Strayer, Fred A. Strayer and granddaughter Laura.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 pm. A Private Graveside service will be held with Pastor Jason Dittus officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.org.) or The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN.com).
