Carolyn Jeanette Creamer, aged 82, of Hazlehurst, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side under the care of Coastal Hospice.
Mrs. Creamer was born June 10, 1943 in Hazlehurst, to the late William Herman Selph and the late Vesper Owens Selph. Carolyn’s smile delivered love and joy to everyone she met. She was always impeccably dressed and was never without her accessories and make-up. She was an avid tennis player, beach goer and professional shopper.
She was a retired bank teller of 36 years of service for Bank of Hazlehurst. Customers loved Carolyn and enjoyed her meeting their banking needs with her kindness, infectious smile and vibrant personality. She could balance a checkbook, check deposits and lift a spirit at the same time. With her talkative and sweet spirit, strangers quickly became her friends.
Beyond her career, she was a faithful member of the Hazlehurst Church of God where she was famous for her coconut pies and southern cooking. She loved her church and her church family. She was a loving wife of sixty plus years to her beloved husband. The true joy of her life was spending her time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. To know her was to love her and to be reminded that kindness, style and a little lipstick can go a very long way
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandmother, Floria Salvo; brothers, JD, Stanley and Richard Selph; sisters-in-law, Verdene and Sylvia Selph and Bobbie Creamer, and one nephew Kevin Selph.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Elias Creamer of Hazlehurst; sons, Darrell (Jodie) Creamer of Hazlehurst, and Dwayne (Susan) Creamer of Hazlehurst; brother, Jimmy Lee Selph of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren, Karson (Bailey) Creamer, Kalin (Stacia) Creamer, Reanna (MJ) Mabey, Rylie Brooke Creamer and Tucker Creamer, and five great grandchildren, Liam Creamer, Evan Creamer, Kalla Creamer, Vanessa Mabey and Cash Maby. A special niece, Patricia Boone and several more nieces and nephews and a special close friend, Connie Nail also survive.
