The world lost a bright, beautiful light on March 3, 2025, when Carolyn Elisabeth Ensley-Jones was called Home. Carolyn loved babies and children, animals of all stripes, and the natural world. She leaves behind a loving family and many friends.
Carolyn and her twin sister Cathleen were born to James and Joyce Ensley on April 15, 1958 in Reno, Nevada, joining their older sister Joyce and eldest brother Jim. Cathleen passed away at age six months, and Carolyn went on to become a great big sister to Robert, Tamara, Serena, John, Melinda, and Samuel.
Carolyn married Peter in September 1977, and welcomed their daughters Kathryn, Karen, Laura, and Rebecca in the years that followed. Carolyn was a wonderful, inventive mother and took great pride in her profession, even printing business cards listing her occupation as mother to her much-loved girls. Her grandchildren were a further blessing to Carolyn’s life, and Emma, Joe, Campino, Ella, Evie, and Bertrand all had a special place in her heart.
Carolyn found peace and happiness with her second husband Steven Jones, whom she married in 2006. They loved finding yard sale treasures, working on their property together, and simply listening to music on beautiful Western Colorado evenings. Carolyn deeply mourned the loss of Steven when he passed away in 2020.
Carolyn had an abiding faith in God and often spoke of her “one-way ticket” to Heaven when her earthly life would come to an end. That ticket took her away too soon for those she left behind but brings comfort in knowing she is at home with the Lord and those who have gone before.
The family plans a private graveside gathering on Friday, March 7th in Delta, Colorado.
