Carolyn Sue Norden, 63, passed away on December 26, 2024 at Smoky Hill Rehab in Salina, KS. Carolyn was born on February 17, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL to parents Elmer Moses and Lucille Ellen (Wilkerson) Calahan. Carolyn married David Norden June 26, 1993. They were married for 31 years until he passed away in 2018.
Carolyn was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lindsborg. She worked at Bethany Home as a CNA for 17 years. Her favorite interests and achievements include a 50 year membership in the Loretta Lynn Fan Club.
Survivors include her daughter: Sarah Suellen DeWitt; son: Matthew David Norden; brother: Bobby Gene Calahan; sister: Lu Jacob; special niece: Shel Hughes, who helped care for Carolyn and always held a special place in her heart; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Most of whom she babysat when they were little.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: David Norden; siblings: Goldie Helms, Melvin Callahan, Wilma Oakley, Pauline Wells, Jack Calahan, Ruby Lilley, Betty Godsey, Ruthann Lugo, Linda Boerckel, Lonnie Calahan, Donald Calahan, and Debbie Davis.
A memorial service will be held at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11th with Pastor Jeff Waugh officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg, KS.
Memorials may be made to the Norden family. Contributions may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 North Washington St. Lindsborg, KS 67456.
