Cassie Mae McCraw Shelley, 88 of Leesville passed away on August 11, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1937, in Texas. Cassie had a passion for working in her yard and keeping her home meticulous. She had a love for old country music and southern gospel. If you wanted to get her feet tapping and hands clapping, put on some music. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren, great grands and great great grands. We will all remember her cooking. If you wanted to get a great home cooked meal or pie, just go to Mawmaws house. Even though we miss her deeply, we know she is no longer in pain and a prisoner of her mind. She will be missed by all and her memory cherished forever. Cassie was preceded in death by her parents, Courtney Leavell McCraw and Ethel Marie Rice; daughter, Sonja Welch; brother, James McCraw; sisters, Courtney Horton and Melba Spears. Cassie is survived by son Richard Shelley (Peggy), daughters Janet Burns (Bill) and Nancy House, sisters Maxine Cole and Dale Fiesel, grandchildren Ashley Burns, Dana Jamison, Natochia (Tosh) Welch (Lorraine), Cody Welch, Matthew House (Samantha), Brandon House (Alli), Richard (Rikki) Shelley, Shawnee Grissom, Kristin Evans (Heith), Blayne Kay, and Joshua Stephens (Heather), 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Two fur baby companions, "Patches" & "Madison", that were her world. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family at https://www.labbymemorialfh.com
