Catherine Jane "Janey" Roberts-Horton, daughter of Zim and Edith Roberts, was born in Columbia, Mo., on May 1, 1959. Janey, formerly of Versailles, passed away in the loving arms of her son, Tom Owens, on June 19, 2025, at their home in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
She is survived by her son, Tom Owens, and granddaughter, Trinnady, of the home; brother, Stan Roberts and wife, Sherri, of Osage Beach, Mo.; sister-in-law, Sherry Allen and husband, Steve, of Stover; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins including Debbi Calvin, cousin and close, personal friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doug Horton; parents, Zim and Edith Roberts; brother, Kenny Roberts; sister, Sue Roberts; and nieces,Tina Roberts and Dana Roberts, all of Versailles, Mo. She was also preceded in death her lifelong friend, Tracy Richards of Florida.
Janey loved to fish and tend to her flowers. She loved spending time with friends and family and made new friends everywhere she went! Janey was always very friendly and loving she had a kind heart and a free spirit.
Memories of Janey will inspire people for generations to come.
Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
