Cathey Melton, 73, of Calvert City, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, surrounded by her family at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
She was born on Wednesday, November 21, 1951 in Paducah. Cathey was the daughter of the late Mark Hall and the late Norma Harper Hall. She worked as a bank teller for The Bank of Marshall County for many years, then for Kentucky Dam Village at the front desk until her retirement. Cathey was an avid reader and could often be found lost in a good book. She was a wonderful grandmother and enjoyed time spent fishing with her grandchildren. Cathey's favorite holiday was Halloween, when the weather cooled and fall decorations were on display.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Melton (Tami) of Eureka, Missouri and Kent Melton (Yolanda) of Lenoir City, Tennessee; one daughter, Kristie Rudolph (Glenn) of Herndon, Virginia; one brother, Rick Hall of Benton; and six grandchildren, Coby Melton, Quentin Melton, Karter Melton, Kendra Melton, John Rudolph and Charles Rudolph.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mark and Norma Hall; and two sisters, Lesa Burkeen and Shari Zaccaro.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5thSt., Benton, Kentucky 42025, with the Kristie Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Provine Cemetery, Benton, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, Kentucky 42025.
