Cecil Moore Obituary

Cecil Vernon Moore, 94, of Bald Knob, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1930 in Russell, Arkansas to Floyd Clifton Moore and Clara Emily (Groves) Moore.
Vernon gave his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the young age of 6. Also, at the age of 6 he came in second place in a County wide singing contest, which included adults. He always had a passion for singing and was known locally as the "young man who could sing like Bing Crosby". He often took his family to Gospel singing concerts and attended every church homecoming in the area that he could to participate in and enjoy singing with others.
He began his career doing various jobs but settled into farming near Russell, Arkansas. He did enjoy mechanic and construction work and did that for roughly 12-15 years. One employer told him that he wasn't just a "parts replacer" like other mechanics, but he would really FIX things, which saved him money, so he gave Vernon a raise. He was mechanically inclined and could fix or repair most anything. Sometimes it may not have looked so pretty but it would always work. (lol!) He returned to farming about 1972 by building a chicken house, raising cattle, and row cropping with his dad and took row cropping over upon the death of Floyd Moore. He was always willing to help others, using his mechanical skills most often.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of about 1 month shy of 66 years, Olgia Danley Moore. In addition to his wife were his parents, Floyd C. and Clara E. Moore; brothers, Norman Francis Moore, Floyd Clifton Moore, Jr., Robert Benson Moore; his daughter, Karen D. Moore Burrow; grandchildren, Marley Moore and Derek Moore.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 9 years, Beth Adams Moore; sister, Helen Moore Roetzel; his children, Franklin M. Moore of Olathe, Kansas, Phillip V. Moore of Bald Knob, Arkansas, and Loy N. Moore of North Port, Florida; son in law, Roger D. Burrow of Heber Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brent Moore (Nikki) of Liberty, Missouri, Sarah B. Tate (Chris) of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Candace R. Wyatt (Brian) of the White County Central area, Arkansas, Leslie D. Bernstein (Brandt) of San
Antonio, Texas, Lynde Moore and Thailer Moore, of North Port, Florida.
Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bradford.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Russell Methodist Church, Russell, Arkansas. Funeral will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Visitation will precede beginning at 10:00a.m.
