Cecilia Knight Obituary

Funeral Service for Cecilia Ann Knight will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Plains with burial following in Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Cecilia was born on December 20, 1953, to Calvin and Juanita (Bible) Neal in Altus, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 71.

Cecilia graduated from Smyer High School and later attended South Plains College, where she met her soulmate, Dell Knight, at the Baptist Student Union. Their friendship blossomed into a beautiful love story, culminating in their marriage at the First Baptist Church of Smyer on August 26, 1978. Together, they shared 46 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A woman of faith, Cecilia's relationship with the Lord was the foundation of her life. As a dedicated member of Plains First Baptist Church, she devoted herself to serving others through GAs, Mission Friends, Vacation Bible School, and many hours in the church kitchen. Her strong spirit of service went beyond the church, as she dedicated over 40 years to the Turner Club Education Association.

Cecilia had an infectious love for life that shined brightly through her passions. She loved shoes and had an incredible fondness for anything pink! Her creativity was displayed through her love of crafting and floral arranging. Cecilia loved going to garage sales and enjoyed the thrill of finding bargains and sales at all her favorite stores: Margarets, Dunlaps, Anthonys, SteinMart and Dillards.

Family was everything to her; she cherished spending time with them and eagerly attended family gatherings. Every summer, she looked forward to the Bible family reunion in Altus, Oklahoma, where she made countless memories with loved ones. A proud cheerleader for her family, Cecilia took joy in watching her nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren participate in stock shows and numerous sports. She never missed a family gathering, as being surrounded by loved ones brought her immense happiness.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Juanita Neal. She is survived by her husband, Dell Knight of Tokio; 2 sons, Robert Wayne Knight of Big Lake and Rustin Knight and his wife, Kristin of Brownfield; daughter, Jessica Knight of Bentonville, AR; 3 grandsons, Tanner, Logan and Leevi Knight; and great-grandson, Micah; 3 brothers, Lynn Neal and wife, Rita, Ronnie Neal and wife, LouAnn, and Ricky Neal and wife, Judy all of Smyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
