Charlene Ann Curtis
1943-2025
Charlene Ann (Watson/Wasielewski) Curtis, 81, of Cameron, MO passed away at her home on June 5, 2025.
Charlene was born to Stanley and Emma (Bolinski) Watson/Wasielewski, December 25, 1943, in Lansing, Michigan. She was 100% Polish, and was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
Charlene attended Eastern High School in Lansing, Michigan. She married Richard A.B. Caraway II at a young age, and they had three children. The kids fondly remember their childhoods - in great part to Charlene being an actively-involved stay-at-home mom. With great love and care, Charlene inspired them to be independent, to make good decisions, and to follow their hearts.
Charlene and Richard divorced in 1979. She married Kenneth Owen Curtis (Owen) in 1992, and they remained happily together until his death in 2003.
After Owen's passing, Charlene moved to Kansas City to live with her daughter & family. She enjoyed several jobs over the years, but her greatest pride was volunteering at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City for over a decade.
Charlene enjoyed collecting recipe books, loved roadtrips, sightseeing, and visiting with friends and family. Yarn and crocheting were her passion.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Emma Watson, her husband, Kenneth Owen Curtis, her step-daughter Libby Parish (Curtis), her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Mary Watson, brother-in-law Randy Curtis, mother-in-law Philena Curtis, and couisin and best friend Patricia York (Gauss).
Charlene is survived by her children, Richard A.B. Caraway III (Lori), Christine Lee Rivers (Jim VanHoozer), Bradley James Caraway (Katy), grandchildren Sean Rivers (Vanessa), Jordan Rivers, Dylan Caraway (Hannah), and Raven Johnson, step-sons Christopher Curtis, and Eric Curtis, great-grandchildren Ava Johnson, Zoe Robba, John Robba, Liam Rivers, a 5th great-grandchild on the way, and neices and nephews and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Cameron at a later date. Charlene's ashes will be interred, at Fairfield #2 Cemetery in Carland, Michigan, next to her late husband, Owen at a later date. Charlene will be greatly missed by her family, and all those who knew her.
