Charlene Elaine Schilling, 71, passed away on July 14, 2025.

Charlene was born on November 2, 1953, in Llano, Texas to Edward and Ladell Troxell. She attended Central Texas College. She married Gene Schilling and together they raised their family in Burnet. She worked for the Burnet County Sherrif's office as a dispatcher and jailer for more than 20 years. Following her time with Burnet County, she worked in customer service for AT&T Wireless for another 20 years. She and Gene were members of First Baptist Church in Burnet for many years. Charlene most enjoyed time with her grandchildren, gardening, watching Gunsmoke, and other old westerns.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Schilling; her parents; and brother, Robert Troxell.

Charlene is survived by her children, Roger Schilling, Pam Mrosko and husband Chris, Melissa Meeks and husband Kenneth, Danny Schilling and wife Melissa; step children, Gene "Junior" Schilling, Glinda Thorpe, James Schilling; grandchildren, Zane Mrosko, Paeton Watkins, Katlin Voit, McKenzie Hunter Schilling, Emily Meeks, Wyatt Meeks, Carson Schilling, and Hunter Schilling; great grandchildren, Kensley June DeJaynes, Westyn Watkins, and Eastyn Watkins; her brothers and sisters, Cindy Dugas, Crissi Reid, Rick Troxell, Lisa Boehl, Deanna Troxell, Melinda Johnson, and Eddie Troxell.

Charlene's family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Burnet Volunteer Fire Department in Her memory.

Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas with interment to follow in Bluffton Cemetery with Pastor Doug Lindley officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Schilling, Kenneth Meeks, Zane Mrosko, Gary Ferguson, Casey Daniels, Cheyene Beasley, Ricky Paz, and Zac Worrell. Honorary Pallbearers are, Chris Mrosko, Justin Watkins, Phil Gonzales, Chris Moore, Cameron Berryhill, Carson Schilling, Hunter Schilling, Wyatt Schilling, Robert Sooter, Phillip Brizendine, and Clayton Smith.

An old childhood friend. I drove Charlene and LaDell home with baby Roger home from the San Antonio hospital after he was born and we were friends for several years and then lost touch as I moved across the country and she married Gene.
