Charles Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Jul. 12, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Charles Edward "Chuck" Davis, 61, of Fruitland, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his home.
Born September 19, 1963, in Salisbury, Maryland, he was the son of the late Richard Lee and Dorothy Jean (Thomas) Davis, Sr.
Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany and later in the National Guard. Over the years, he worked at Plymouth Tube, Sherwin Williams, and most recently as a truck driver for Crete.
Chuck had a big heart and an even bigger personality. He had a natural talent for making people laugh and was rarely without a joke - it was almost impossible to be around him without cracking a smile. His sense of humor was a gift he gave freely to those around him.
He was an avid golfer who won several local titles and especially enjoyed playing with his brother Rick and friends. Chuck was also a true foodie - he loved trying new dishes, particularly from Asia - and was a skilled home cook, best known (at least to his son) for his rich macaroni and cheese and signature chicken parmesan. He loved to cook, share meals, and explore new restaurants.
In his free time, Chuck enjoyed open-world video games, drawn to the spirit of exploration and discovery - they spoke to his adventurer's heart. He also enjoyed biking and going to the gym. Most recently, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Asia by visiting Vietnam with his son.
Chuck wasn't perfect, but he'll be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, and love for his family. He found joy in simple things - sharing a meal, telling a story, or just sitting around and making someone laugh.
Above all, Chuck loved deeply and took care of his son, Cory. He showed his love in the ways he knew how, and Cory is deeply grateful to have had him as a father. He felt loved because he knew his dad would do whatever was necessary to provide for their family.
Chuck is survived by his son, Cory Davis of Spokane, WA; his sister, Judi Daniels of Fruitland; his brother, Rick Davis and wife, Sandy, of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Craun.
A celebration of life will be held at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church at 620 W Main St, Fruitland, MD on Saturday, July 19th at 10:00am. All are welcome. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Charles, please visit our floral store.
