Charles E. Murphy, 81, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at T. J. Health Columbia. He was born in Columbia, KY on October 17, 1943, to the late Edwin Robert and Stella Mae Murphy. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Marie Sneed Murphy in 2018.

Mr. Murphy was a member of Hadley's Community Church and retired from Adair County Schools. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include a son Andrew Lewis Murphy of Glasgow, KY; a stepson James Alan Brown of Columbia, KY; four step grandchildren Jessica Gose (Justin), Christopher Brown, Dawn Scroggins (David), and Candace Wooten; five step great grandchildren Madison, Justin, Damien, Bradley, and Jacob; four siblings Linda Lewis (Carson), Dorothy Jean Coomer, and James "Bo" Murphy (Pam) all of Columbia, KY and Kenneth Murphy of Louisville, KY, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two stepchildren Jay Edwin Brown and Cathy Eller, a sister Brenda Loy, a sister-in-law Rebecca Faye Murphy and brothers-in-law Raymond Loy and Earl Coomer.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Tuesday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Willard Parson will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Derrick Murphy, Danny Sneed, Christopher Brown, Bradley Eller, Justin Gose, and Odell Wooten.
