Charles Ogden Greenlaw

March 2, 1943 - December 27, 2023

Sacramento, California - Charles Ogden Greenlaw was born March 2, 1943 to Morrison B. Greenlaw, CQM, U.S.C.G. and Suzanne Cooley Greenlaw, later a Licensed Architect. Attended Havens School (Piedmont), Joaquin Miller, McChesney Jr. High (Oakland), graduating from Oakland High in 1960. He was a member of Oakland Boy Scout Troop 33, backpacking Kings Canyon in 1956 and Philmont in 1957.

Charles graduated from Sac State in Civil Engineering, 1965, then Navy Officer Candidate School, 1967. He was active duty, USNR Civil Engineer Corps at Port Hueneme and Naval Air Facility El Centro, then Vietnam as Public Works Liaison Officer at Binh Thuy in the Mekong Delta, returning July 1970 as Lt., J.G.

Charles resided in Sacramento, working for a Structural Engineering firm, receiving Civil Engineer registration in 1972 adding Structural Engineer registration in 1975. He served as President of the Structural Engineers Association of Central California and on its Code and Seismology committees.

Charles was an accomplished bicycle racer, in college and later, winning the All-California Road Championship and Tour Del Mar races, 1965, numerous individual and team time trials, plus senior races into 1984. He was a member of Sons of the Desert and Mensa.
