Charles Weldon Obituary

Charles William Weldon age 89 of Flat Rock, AL died Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 2 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Fred Russell and Bro. Jerry Henegar officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM CT on Tuesday and 12 Noon until service time on Wednesday.
Charles was born August 21, 1935 in Flat Rock, AL to parents, William Sims and Christy Coralee Shaw Weldon. He was a 1957 graduate of Ider High School and worked at Sara Lee/Earthgrains for 20 years. He was a member and Deacon of Beulah Chapel Church for 57 years. He served as a trustee of Beulah Chapel Cemetery for many years.
He is survived by wife of 65 years, Genella Jean Chapman Weldon, daughter, Phyllis Stephens(Donald), grandchildren, Tommy Stephens(Alisha), Amy Jones(Heath), great-grandchildren, Allie Grace Stephens, Claire Stephens, Jackson Jones, Maddox Jones, sisters, Edna Weldon, Helen Weldon, Betty Schweda(Joe), brothers, Arland Welden(Sue), Clarence Weldon, Norman Weldon, half-brothers, James Weldon, Earl Weldon, chosen daughters, Kim Higdon(Marty), Karen Biddle(Darren), along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Steven William Weldon, Roger Dale Weldon, sister, Evelyn Sparks, brothers, H. R. Weldon and Doyle Weldon
