Charlotte T. Buchan, aged 94, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born on September 29, 1930 in New Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to David and Louise (Galat) Tomey. Charlotte wed her beloved Melvin (Mel) Buchan on June 13, 1953 in New Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Charlotte and Mel lived in Ogden, Utah for many years. In 1971 they moved their family to Fresno, California where Charlotte was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a devout Catholic who cherished prayer and devoted herself to her family and friends. Charlotte, with her propensity for laughter and entertaining others, was often the life of the party. Charlotte and Mel enjoyed traveling and especially attending reunions for Korean War Veterans where they made many new friends. Most recently, Charlotte was a member of Saint Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Missouri.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin, of 65 years, her parents David and Louise Tomey, brothers David and William Tomey, and sister Louise Spotts. Charlotte leaves behind three children: Debra Wright with her husband Dennis of Cambria, California; Mel Buchan of Garfield, Arkansas; and Barbara Reinsvold with her husband Thomas of Garfield, Arkansas; and one brother, Joseph "Butchy" Tomey of Palo Alto, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Nicole, Daniel, Matthew, Michelle, Laura, Nicholas, Elaina and Michael and eight great grandchildren.
Charlotte's life will be honored with a mass service on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Missouri. A luncheon celebration of her life will follow.
The arrangements are entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.
