Chester Dale Stevens, 81, of Argillite, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving daughters.
Born June 26, 1944, in Greenup, Dale was the son of the late Chester and Mabel Stiltner Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Lawona J. Stevens, who passed in 2005, and his sister, Betty Carr.
A proud veteran, Dale honorably served in the United States Army. After his military service, he went on to retire from AK Steel. He was an active member of the Greenup VFW and Amvets, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow veterans. Dale had a deep love for the land-he found joy in farming-and a passion for fast cars, hot rods, and restoring vintage automobiles.
Dale was a Christian man whose greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.
He is survived by his two daughters, Christina Stevens of Cambridge, Ohio, and Chantel Ross of Jackson, Ohio; and by his three cherished grandchildren, Aidan Ross, Haley Ross, and Connor Wheeler, who brought light and laughter to his life.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup, with Pastor Marvin Boggs officiating. Military honors will follow the service, presented by the Ceredo/Kenova American Legion Post 93. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
All who knew and loved Dale are welcome to attend and share memories in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dale's memory to the Greenup County Animal Shelter.
Condolences may be shared online at www.mfhfuneralhome.com.
