Christina "Tina" Day, 51, of Jackson valiantly fought a 14-month battle with Glioblastoma. She passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at her home in Fruitland.
Tina was born October 1, 1973, in Cape Girardeau, to Brenda Proffer. She was a 1992 graduate of Chaffee High School.
Tina and Dean Day were married September 29, 2012, at Cape Girardeau County Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Tina was a homemaker and a faithful member of Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson.
Tina was a gentle soul, and a loving wife, mother, grandma, daughter, bonus daughter, niece, and aunt, and will be deeply missed.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband of 12 years, Dean Day of Fruitland; sons, Christopher (Kaylyn) Skaggs of Cape Girardeau and Hunter Bell of Jackson; grandson, Emmett Skaggs of Cape Girardeau; mother, Brenda (Proffer) Loper Rhodes of Oran, Mo.; siblings, Amy Loper Phillips, Bill Loper, and Melissa Goodale, all of Oran; maternal uncle, Richard Proffer of Pekin, Illinois; nine nephews; one niece; three great nephews; and one great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, N. A. and Margie Schweer Proffer.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to service time, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 2484 Old Toll Road (CR 328), Jackson, MO 63755. The Rev. Randall Perkey will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at the church. Interment will follow at Proffer Cemetery in Crump.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests Harvest Missionary Baptist Church.
