Christina was born in Irvington but grew up in Iselin. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Montclair State University. She began her career in retail working for Macy's, Kids R Us, and Toys R Us, but she finally found her true passion at People For Animals where she most recently worked as the Front End Supervisor. Chris volunteered at Angel PAWS for over a decade. She had a deep passion for animals and dedicated her time caring and fostering cats.
She is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Magda (n. Duppong) Kalmar.
Christina is survived by her sister, Erica Kalmar; her nephew, Alex Kalmar-Gonzalo; her four furbabies: Sparky, Beebs, Nelly, and Polly; and many beloved friends.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, located on the corner of 1225 Green Street and 200 Cooper Avenue Iselin, NJ 08830. A Prayer Service will begin at 6:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks loved ones to make donations to Angel PAWS in Colonia in memory of Christina.
