Clara Oleta Harrel was born near Leedey, Oklahoma in Roger Mills County to Lance and Clara Harrel in their rural-farm home on December 20, 1933.
Oleta passed from this life to go home to be with the Lord forever on July 11, 2025. She was residing in Glenhaven Retirement Village in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Being raised where she was born, she attended Canadian, Liberty Center, and Leedey Schools.
In 1949, she married Paul Haney. To this union, four children were born: Ronald Paul, Pauleta Kay, Lance Elbert, and Laneta Gay.
Some years later she married Wilson Carter from Oklahoma City. To this union, one son, Steven Brent, was born.
Both husbands preceded her in death in earlier years.
Oleta attended Sayre College, graduating in 1974 as a laboratory and x-ray tech, with an associate degree in science. She moved to Altus, Oklahoma to work for doctors in a medical clinic.
Entering into sales, she owned and operated convenience stores until retiring, making her home in Cyril.
She loved life, lived life to the fullest, loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, other relations, and friends.
In 1990, she entered Biblical counseling school, graduating in 1992 as a certified counselor for Vine Life Ministry where she served as long as health and age permitted.
Her retirement years were spent serving on the board of Harvest Fellowship in Leedey, Oklahoma, Vine Life Ministries in Oklahoma City, traveling, and square dancing.
Oleta is survived by 2 sons: Ronnie Haney (Judy) and Steve Booker (Shelli); 2 daughters: Pauleta Hunter (Bob) and Laneta Lutonsky (Robert); 1 brother: Jack Harrel; 12 grandchildren: Mark Haney (Jada), Matt Haney (Leslie), Jo Ediger (Justin), Alan Haney (Amanda), Jesse Bennett (Jake), Jennifer Jackson (Mark), Jon Hunter (Traci), Josh Hunter (Lindsay), Rob Lutonsky, Lacy Bland (Jimmy), Jaci Jinkens (Beau), and Jance Booker; 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, a son: Lance Haney, and 2 great-grandsons: Jadan Haney and Justin Jackson.

Funeral service for Oleta will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Harvest Fellowship Church in Leedey, Oklahoma with her grandson, Pastor Mark Haney officiating and Pastor Donnie Miller assisting. Burial will follow at Shirley Cemetery under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
