Cleatus passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Lindale. He was born February 3, 1942, in Edom, Texas to the late Walter and Ione (Perry) Hopson. Cleatus was a longtime resident of Lindale where he was a member of Harris Chapel Methodist Church. He worked throughout his life as a dirt excavation Contractor. Cleatus enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and his home at Lake Fork.
Cleatus has 4 children, Cleatus Wayne, Stacey, Pennie, and Brenda; mother of his children, Carolyn Sue Darden; grandchildren, Whitney, Carson, and Morgan; great grandchildren, Jaxson, Cruz, and River; 7 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Oh, my goodness! I hadn't seen Mr. Hopson in years, but I have some of the funniest memories of time spent with his kids and in his and Sue's home as a teenager. The laughs were the kind that left your sides hurting! I am sorry to the family for their loss.
