Clement O'Donnell Obituary

Clement “Clem” L. O’Donnell, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025.

Beloved son of the late Clement A. and Marie (nee Morrissey) O’Donnell. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia S. (nee Sefton) O’Donnell; Children, Clement S. O’Donnell (Heather), Loretta K. Wood (Robert), Erinn E. O’Donnell, and Matthew J. O’Donnell (Meagan); Grandchildren, Nicholas, Robert, Brianna, Evelyn, Jack, Thomas, Dean, Marin, and Reed; Siblings, Marie Sumser (William), and Laurence O’Donnell (Eugenia). He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Rudnick (Martin).

A Philadelphia native, Clem attended St. Laurence Elementary, Monsignor Bonner High School and went on to Villanova University graduating with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He truly valued the close friendships he created in school that lasted his lifetime. After graduating he embarked on a career leading heavy industry and manufacturing companies. That career that took him around the world and his young family around the country. Finally settling in Berwyn, PA, where he resided for close to 50 years.

After retiring in 2006, he continued his travel. From the Jersey Shore to San Francisco to New Orleans, and Italy to Ireland, he continued to rack up the miles to spend time and celebrate milestones with his family.

He was a voracious reader of books about boats and history. He loved movies whose only goal was to make you laugh. He was a secret connoisseur of Broadway plays and musicals. He enjoyed the Barnes Museum and seeing the orchestra at Kimmel Center. He loved the Phillies, the Eagles, Villanova basketball and Notre Dame Football. He was a great chef, but he never missed an opportunity to dine out. His Caesar salad and sense of humor will be missed by many, and we will think of him whenever the whole gang is together.

Relatives and friends are invited to Clem’s viewing on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at The Donohue Funeral home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
