Clifford Kay Peterson, 84, of Montpelier, Idaho passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, with his family surrounding him. His last few days were very special for him with many family members able to visit and listen to some stories one last time. He was born March 6, 1941, in Nephi, Utah. He spent the first part of his life in Scipio, farming with his dad and brothers. He married Geraldine Johnson, and they had 2 boys (Jim and Casey) while going to school at Utah State University. He graduated from USU with a double major in agriculture and economics. He then moved back to Scipio, had 3 daughters (Kitty, Ceilla and Honey Lyn) and continued farming and raising his family. He and Geraldine divorced, and he moved to Bear Lake, Idaho, still doing what he truly loved (farming) while working full time at a gold mine. Later he married Carolyn Teusher Ashley and became stepdad to Tonya, Carla and Nicole.

Dad enjoyed telling stories about his cows, experiences he had in Scipio and other adventures he had in his life. He had a great memory and could name everyone in his graduating class, even up to the day before he passed.

He loved sharing his passion for farming with his family and was happy to have his kids or grandkids come help him whenever they were willing to. Several grandkids have stories of helping him with his farm work and branding cattle. Grandpa had a special relationship with his great grandson, Emilio who was his pride and joy.

Cliff is survived by sons James Kay (Martha), Casey (Dawn), daughters Kitty Louden, Ceilla Johnston (Mike) and Honey Lyn (Dwight). He also has several grandkids, great grandkids and even 1 great great granddaughter (and another on the way!)

Funeral services will be Thursday July 17th at the LDS church in Montpelier (585 N 8th St) A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 with the funeral directly afterward. He will be buried in the Montpelier Cemetery.
